UEFA have rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s appeal over Neymar‘s three-match ban for “insulting officials” after the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United last season.
PSG were eliminated in the round of 16 after the video assistant referee awarded United a penalty in stoppage time and Neymar responded with an Instagram post in which he lambasted officials.
The Ligue 1 giants had appeared to set to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 2016 after earning a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford in the first leg. However, an injury-ravaged United side stunned PSG at the Parc des Princes.
Sources have told ESPN FC that PSG are open to selling Neymar this summer.
A source said that PSG expect an offer from either Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
Sources close to Barcelona told ESPN FC on Monday that the Catalan giants think a deal “could be doable, but it won’t be simple.”
Last summer, PSG signed Gianluigi Buffon on a free transfer, despite the Italian being banned for the first three matches of last season’s Champions League campaign.
